FASHION DOESN’T HAVE TO BE UNETHICAL

Laura founded Amor & Rosas an ethical fashion-line committed to empowering indigenous artisans in Mexico by paying a living wage for their embroidery work. Amor & Rosas is working with 86 artisans in the states of Chiapas, Hidalgo and Oaxaca and generates indirect employment for 40 seamstresses.

PROBLEM

The Fast Fashion Epidemic: Traditional fashion brands produce massive volumes of "disposable" clothing, leading to millions of tons of textile waste in landfills

Artisanal Invisibility: 3/4 of indigenous people in Mexico are poor, surviving on less than five dollars per day without potable water, electricity, and schools.

Solution

Slow Fashion Model: By producing in small batches and using sustainable or upcycled materials, the venture minimizes waste and ensures every piece is high-quality and long-lasting

Traceable & Collaborative: Every garment is labeled with details about the fabric and the artisan who touched it, ensuring a 100% transparent supply chain
